Living Sent Missionary Academy exists to train and empower the members of our church to build authentic, long lasting discipleship relationships with students on university and college campuses. Through three different streams of training, the family of LIFT Church will learn how to orient our lives to the mission of seeing students made fully alive in the hope of Jesus. Living Sent Missionary Academy offers flexible course schedules, training from global experts and a supportive learning environment to teach you how to model, train and empower others to know Jesus.
Missionary Appointment Stream
The Missionary Appointment Stream is designed equip graduated or graduating members of our church with the theology and core skills to build authentic and long lasting discipleship relationships with students.
The Missionary Appointment Stream is a foundation for a lifetime of continual learning. The core mandatory coursework occurs from May to September and is a launching pad from which missionaries are sent to disciple students. Once completed, graduates will participate in tri-annual training days to continue their own personal, spiritual and leadership growth. Upon completion of the Missionary Appointment stream, missionaries will have the skills to orient their lives towards reaching students and fostering discipleship relationships with them, regardless of their life stage.
This stream is designed to be taken alongside full-time work. Core courses will be offered in a variety of formats so that those who enrol will be able to complete the stream outside of work hours.
Tilling Stream
The Tilling Stream is designed to prepare potential Simple Church Regional Directors for the unique challenges and opportunities that come with leading a new region. Tilling on new campuses is essential to LIFT Church’s mission to be the church on every campus.
Graduates of this program will be equipped with a deep understanding of the Simple Church Triangle and the theology and practice that led to its creation. They will also learn how to ensure healthy multiplication in Simple Churches and will be responsible for developing a strategic plan for starting a region of Simple Churches on a new campus.
The Tilling Stream requires the highest time commitment during training and a demonstrated and expressed commitment to root with LIFT Church for several years beyond the completion of the program.
LIFT Church created Living Sent Missionary Academy as a pathway for graduating and graduated members of the church to orient their lives to the campus and build authentic and long-lasting discipleship relationships with students. Living Sent Missionary Academy may be right for you if you are:
- A graduate looking to grow in their understanding of and efficacy in evangelism.
- A graduate seeking to grow their expertise in the operational and administrative aspects of ministry.
- A young professional and/or married couple working part or full-time jobs but wanting to take the next step to fully participating in the vision of LIFT Church: to see students made fully alive in the hope of Jesus by being the church on every campus.
- A family with kids that desires to practically learn how to live on mission to the campus as a family.
- Any of the above who feel a desire to be sent from their home region to till at a new campus or in a new country.
